Laurie’s House is the shelter run by Voices Against Violence. Laurie’s House provides temporary emergency housing for up to 10 women and children at a time. In addition to shelter, the staff at Laurie’s House provides support, advocacy, safety planning, crisis intervention, housing advocacy, resources, and referrals.
Our Transitional Housing Program is a scattered site supportive housing model with strong, strengths-based support services for domestic and sexual violence and stalking victims. We currently have 6 apartments. The purpose of this project is to provide a bridge between emergency shelter and permanent housing while offering participants sufficient time to explore their housing and employment options. The length of time for participants in the program is up to 24 months.
